“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” was a statement that Paige Robinson put on a pedestal when she decided to run in her first pageant, Miss Indiana Teen USA 2017.
Robinson was encouraged to run in the pageant by a friend she met while modeling at RaeLynns Boutique.
“I met Lauren Boswell, Miss Indiana Teen 2016, last fall when we were both chosen to model at RaeLynn’s Boutique fashion show. Lauren encouraged me to try the Miss Indiana Teen USA pageant as well as many of my family members,” Robinson said.
Robinson had reached a point in her life where she knew that she had to do solely what satisfied, excited, and fulfilled her even if that meant sacrificing parts of her life that once defined who she was.
“The age limit is eighteen years old for the teen division. I figured with being my one shot to go after the Miss Indiana Teen USA title, that I should pursue it.” Robinson said.
Being her first time in pageants while many of the girls she competed against had been earning sashes and trophies and strutting down the runway since they could walk made Paige unsure about the outcome.
She went throught a meticulous process and was judged in three different categories which include personal interview, active wear, and evening gown. Despite the odds being stacked against her, Robinson won.
Filled with emotion, she accepted her crown on October 23, 2016.
“It was close to indescribable. It seems cliché to say, but the amount of feelings, adrenaline rushing throughout my veins and the tears of joy was overbearing,” Robinson said.
Although the she has been involved in pageants for a short period of time, they have already brought an immeasurable amount of satisfaction in her life.
“In the short time that I’ve had my title, this pageant has brought about clarity. I believe certain situations have happened in my past in order to shape me for my year of being Miss Indiana Teen USA 2017. The impact is very positive, from the influential people I have met to the lives I will touch and effect in the near future,” Robinson said.
Robinson values her friends, family, and most importantly God for allowing her to have this opportunity of a lifetime.
“I could only think to thank God and give him the glory immediately by lifting my hands in praise. Because without the Lord I wouldn’t have had his opportunity,” Robinson said.
As Miss Indiana USA 2017, Robinson will go to various charitable events and social functions. Robinson also will be representing Indiana in the prestigious Miss Teen USA pageant in the summer.
These events and activities will allow her to make meaningful changes. Specifically she plans to work diligently on expanding her platform on cancer awareness, which is very near and dear to her heart.
“I love connections pageants brings. I believe pageants bring you the ability to use your title and voice to bring a powerful change. I hope to encourage, empower and be an example to many lives,” Robinson said.
