With spring break approaching, students are figuring out what they will be doing.

Spring Break begins on Mar. 25 and ends on Mar. 29. This is a time to relax and have fun.

With spring break being the only break of the second semester, students often choose to leave Indiana and go somewhere preferably warmer.

Multiple students will be going to different parts of Florida for break.

Freshman, Connor Whaley is going to Siesta Key, Florida with his family.

“I am looking forward to not having to do schoolwork. I also am excited to swim in the ocean,” Whaley said.

Freshman Kate Peterson is going to Sanibel, Florida and looks forward to spending time in the warmth.

“I really am just super excited to get tan and get in the ocean. Hopefully the ocean is warm when we go,” Peterson said.

Other students prefer to not travel and relax at home, sophomore Sirus Cline is one of them.

“I will not be going anywhere for spring break. I don’t mind staying home and hanging with my family, it’s what we always do,” Cline said.

For some students, spring break is a time for sports. Freshman Mackenzie Wilson, is staying home for break, but going to Florida soon after.

“I have a volleyball tournament in Florida right after, so I’m staying home,” Wilson said.

Junior Nathan Chinni is going to Cleveland, although it isn’t a warm destination he is excited to be with his hockey team.

“The high school hockey national championship is in Cleveland that week and we will be competing in that,” Chinni said.  

Least commonly for break, students travel out of the country. This year the World Travelers Club is going on a trip to multiple different countries in Europe.

Senior Ben Taylor is one of the students going on the World Travelers trip.

“I am most excited to try all the different foods from other countries,” Taylor said.

Freshman Maris Morgan is also going on the World Travelers trip.

“I hope we go to the Swiss Alps. That’s definitely what I want to do most,” Morgan said.

Junior Bell Pastore is going to Porto, Portugal for break.

“Leaving the country will be fun, it is my sisters last high school spring break and we are really looking forward to it,” Pastore said.
