Prom+Recap

Junior Prom took place at the J.W. Marriott downtown this past saturday. It started at 8:00 p.m. and lasted until 11:00 p.m. Around 800 tickets were sold for the evening made up of mostly juniors, but included guest from different grades and even schools.
Administration from the school, including Evans Branigan III, were present in order to watch over the festivities and insure a safe environment for all. Students were breathalyzed before entry and watched over closely as the night went on.
There were many activities and amenities available to everyone in attendance. The event room in which the activities took place was decorated with the theme of “Naptown at Night,” including many lights and city decorations. The decorations were put up earlier in the day by members of the Junior Class Council.
Additionally, the school provided students with free T-shirts and sunglasses in order to commemorate the night. A photo booth was provided free of charge to give students pictures that can last a lifetime. DJ Bee Rad was in attendance to provide the soundtrack for the night and listened to the students to determine what kind of music should be played.
As the night went on, students were given the chance to vote for their prom king and queen. At 10:00 p.m., the winners were announced with Philip Pharmalee as king and Thea Brown as queen.
