The highly anticipated boys basketball game between North Central(3-0) and New Albany(3-0) is set for 2pm, Saturday December 10. The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association has ranked North Central second behind New Albany.

With a strong 79-68 win over Hamilton Southeastern Friday night, the panthers will look to carry the momentum from this game into tomorrow’s tough matchup. Senior Kris Wilkes had a strong showing with 30 points. Other notable performances include a 13 point performance from senior Emmanuel Little and a 19 point game from senior Mateo Rivera.

“Everybody must step up and bring more energy than we had tonight, with that enthusiasm we will be hard to beat,” Rivera said.

However, the New Albany team has also been very successful this year. They defeated Floyd Central 65-42, and with a 25 point game from junior Romeo Langford. However, the North Central team believes it has the capability to compete with any team, including New Albany.

“Using our athleticism and height, and having the seniors and juniors do their part we will come out with a victory,” Little said.

The showdown between UCLA commit Kris Wilkes and highly recruited junior Romeo Langford will take place at the Forums Tipoff Classic at Southport High School.

“We plan to just play the game the way it’s supposed to be played. We have to stop their team as a whole, like we did against Hamilton Southeastern we can’t focus on just one guy,” Wilkes said.
